This is our fight.
California United is a cross-industry organizing effort for workers throughout California. It is meant to act as a union for those workers without a union. It is also meant to exist on top of, and in parallel with, other unions. Where most unions in California are invested in formal contract formation and state-run bargaining negotiations, California United focuses on direct action in furtherance of specific goals.
Direct action includes strikes, boycotts, and walkouts. Sometimes it includes property destruction and civil defense. Sometimes it includes political lobbying and campaigning.
California United will take on fights for workers throughout the state, based on their regional needs. In addition, we have statewide goals that we are going to take statewide action on.
Statewide All-Worker Goals
- 32-Hour Workweek
- Guaranteed Minimum Income
- Free Universal Healthcare
- Free Public Transportation
- Protection from State-Sponsored Terror
- Abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
- Disarm, Defund, and Disband the Police
- End Support for Capitalism, Greed, and War
- Secure the Climate and Environment
